About !Request
==============

The !Request program is an electronic filetype request program. This
file explains how to use the application.

The application should only be run once and is not intended to be run from a

the new copy to complete your request prior to mailing it.

                        representation of the file)

To start entering data, click on the request icon on the iconbar. This will
then open two windows, one for entering developer details and one for
entering details on the filetype request.

                          include the word 'File'.

Completing a Submission
=======================

To complete a submission, the following items need to be dragged to the
filetype request window :-

Applicatio description
                - a description of the application needs to be dragged to
                  the 'Description of product' icon. The description of the
                  application needs to be as detailed as possible and should
                  be a plain text file.

The file format - the format for the file must be dragged to the 'Full details
                  of file format' icon. before the submission can be completed.
                  This should be a plain text file (as produced by !Edit).

A sprite file - a sprite file with a sprite that represents the icon for
                  the filetype (See note below)

NOTE: When submitting your filetype sprites, a name of 'file_xxx' or
      'small_xxx' should be given to the sprite(s) in the file. If your
      application supports high resolution sprites as well as normal
      sprites, then !Request allows you to submit these sprite files also.

When the individual icons have been dragged in the respective icons will
fade out

Once these items have been submitted then the user should menu over the
filetype request window. The user should then click select on the 'Submit'
option. If the submission is complete, a dialogue box will appear informing
you that you should return the disc to Acorn for processing. Subsequent
clicking of the 'OK' button will shut down the application. If any of the
required items have not been submitted then you will be warned, the
submission will be stopped and the editing of the request may continue.

Aborting a request
==================

If, for any reason, you have edited a request and then wish to abort the
process you can quit the request. This can be done, with some warning, by
quitting the application from the icon bar menu or closing the filetype
request window.
